After the memorable achievement in Spa, the driver follows the F2 schedule at the legendary Monza track

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy will host the ninth round of the F2 World Championship this weekend between the first and third of September. After the celebrated victory last Sunday in Belgium, Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara (ACER | CCR | SANEPAV | CELIG | BELL) is very excited for the disputes valid for the 17th and 18th stages of the championship.

Known for being the fastest track on the F-1 calendar, Monza’s numbers are really impressive. Despite its 5,793 meters of extension, to complete a lap in the circuit the cars spend 80% of the time in full acceleration. As a result, the F2 cars reach a top speed of 328 km / h and, impressively, complete a lap in an average of 229 km / h.

Unlike tracks like Spa-Francorchamps or even Silverstone, which also have quite long tracks, in Monza the cars run with very little aerodynamic pressure. This happens so that cars can reach the maximum possible speed in the straights. Something interesting happens because of this. In Monza, the tyre wear, which is always a big villain for F2 drivers, is very low, and with that, teams’ race strategies can vary greatly between Saturday and Sunday races.

Driven by his best weekend in the season, Sette Câmara keeps focused on the Championship and is very down to earth when talking about his expectations for the weekend. “Reaching the scoring board and, especially, winning at Spa was really excellent, but it’s over. We have very different challenges in Monza where, above all, we need to have a car with maximum power all the time.  In the free practice, I hope to achieve a perfect setup for the qualifier. A good starting position is essential for me to achieve my goal of, once again, finishing the two races in a position to score points. “
