Formula E World Championship will have the fourth round of the season in São Paulo

After passing through Mexico and Saudi Arabia in a double-header, Formula E lands in Brazil this weekend for the fourth round of the World Championship. The race will take place on the street circuit around the Sambodrome of Anhembi, in São Paulo, and will feature the world’s 22 fastest drivers in electric cars.

Competing for the British team ERT Formula E Team, Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara is very excited for the race. Since becoming a professional driver, this will only be the second time he will have the opportunity to compete “at home”, and the joy of racing in front of his fans, family and friends is immense.

“Racing at home is a very different experience for me. Since a very young age, I went to Europe, and since then, my career has always been happening abroad. Last year was the first time I could really race here in Brazil, and this year, for the second time. Naturally, I am happy with the possibility of being with my friends and family close to me. It’s a slightly different weekend, with several off-track commitments, but I’m sure it will be, just like last year, very special,” commented the 25-year-old driver.

The Anhembi Circuit was built using the Sambodrome as a base. Thus, a large part of the infrastructure is already permanently installed for major events. The main straight is exactly where the samba school parades take place, and the crowd is expected to fill the grandstands to watch the electric cars accelerate to over 300 km/h.

The official schedule will begin this Friday with the first practice session. All other activities will be held on Saturday, consisting of another practice session, the qualifying session and the race. The practices and qualifying will be broadcasted in Brazil by the BandSports channel, and the race by Band. The Grande Prêmio channel on YouTube will also livestream all activities of the Brazilian leg of the Formula E.
