Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium holds the ninth round of the 2018 Championship
After the European summer vacation, the F2 World Championship resumes its calendar this weekend. The legendary Spa-Francorchamps track in Belgium will be the place for the ninth double round of the season with the 17th and 18th stage.
In his second year in the category, Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | Banco BMG | MRV | CCR | CEMIG | GASMIG | Usiminas | Americanet | Lubrax) has excellent memories of this track. There, in 2015, while still competing in the European F3, he got his first ever podium in the single seater and, last year won his first victory in the F2 World Championship.
Experiencing a season of great results, Sergio has already accumulated five podiums in the year. Even though he faced some mechanical problems and even his right wrist broken in the qualifying sessions for the Monaco Grand Prix, now he has 106 points and ranks seventh in the standings.
“I think we have a chance to grow a lot in the next four rounds of the Championship. These are tracks that I really like and, more than that, I’ve had good performance on them. I really want to finish in the top three of the Championship, but for that, neither I nor the team can go wrong. We’re going to give our best and I’m sure we’ll have a very competitive set for the weekend,” he said.
