Hungaroring circuit on the outskirts of Budapest will be the last challenge before the holidays

The F2 World Championship this week arrives at the traditional Hungaroring racetrack in Hungary. Currently sixth in the standings with 86 points, Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | Banco BMG | MRV | CCR | GASMIG | Usiminas) hopes to rise in the standings after a weekend of problems in England.

Sette has had a busy season. With a fast car since the start of the season the driver of the English team Carlin has already won some podiums and, invariably, at every stage, has had a fast set that always allowed him to fight for the first places. Unfortunately, most of the time due to failure or breakdown of the equipment, the good performance did not bring about expected results leaving him in an uncomfortable position to fight for the title. He currently has 86 points and is sixth in the Championship.

For the excellent retrospect in the year, the Carlin team is very optimistic for the performance this weekend. The expectations are the best possible for both Sergio’s car and his teammate’s. Carlin, the leader of the Teams’ Championship since the first round of the year, slipped to second place at Silverstone, and will therefore strive even further to regain the top spot in the Championship.

Sette competed at the Hungaroring track for the first time in 2017. There, in his first season in the F2, he was ninth on Saturday and eighth on Sunday. The Hungarian track is one of the most traditional of the World Championship and it is where, in the 80’s, Nelson Piquet amazingly overtook Ayrton Senna on the outside at the end of the pit straight. The circuit has an extension of 4,381 meters and the current record belongs to French Pierre Gasly, established in 2016 with the time of 1m25s612.

“I’m very excited to get back on track this weekend. Throughout the year our car has proved to be very fast and reliable. I believe we will have a very good round where, above all, I hope to get important points for the Championship. I think I still have a chance to fight and finish in the Top3 and, with that, get my license to compete in Formula 1 later this season. I’m very excited and today, my main goal, is this, “commented the 20-year-old.
