The category will have its first night races in double round in Saudi Arabia

This weekend, between the 25th and 27th of February, in the distant Saudi Arabia, the Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara will make his official debut as a starting driver in the FE World Championship. The only formula category with 100% electric cars will be on the streets of Diriyah for the first two races of the 2021 season.

Competing for the North American team Dragon Penske Autosport, the young driver arrives to join the starred grid of the category that counts with, no less than, the participation of five ex-F1 drivers in addition to drivers that raced in the DTM , F2 and WEC (World Endurance). In addition, presenting the public with a new solution in sports and development for the market, a total of 10 car manufacturers among the 12 teams operate directly in the Championship. 24 drivers will form the competition grid.

Taking its ideals of sustainability, new sources of technology and renewable energy, Formula E will start, this Friday, its seventh consecutive season. Brazil, as in other motor sport modalities, has its name marked in the history of the category having already revealed two champions – Nelsinho Piquet and Lucas Di Grassi.

Sette Câmara had the opportunity to make his debut in the category last year. Faced with the health uncertainties generated by the Pandemic, he competed in the last six stages of 2020 that took place at the Tempelhof Airport Circuit in Berlin – Germany. At that time he had the chance to become familiar with the car, the format of the competition weekend, as well as the Dragon team’s work system. This same team, impressed with the performance of the Brazilian, did not delay in hiring him as a starter for the disputes this year.

.: PREPARATION FOR SEASON 7 :.

Since the first half of February, Sérgio went to the technical base of the team, which is located at the Silverstone Autodrome complex, in England, where he worked a lot with the engineers in the configuration of the car for this season. In addition to the technical work, Sette Câmara devoted a good part of his days to the preparation in the modern simulator of the team.

After completing 60 hours of quarantine in a hotel room upon arriving in Saudi Arabia, Sérgio went to the track this Wednesday and believes he is ready for the start of the season. “I spent almost three weeks working directly at the team’s headquarters. I am very excited about this start of the season and, above all, looking forward to competing again in an official race. My mind, my body and my reflexes are very well trained and, with the help of my team, I hope that we can fight to be in the scoring zone of the races ”, analyzed the representative of MRV, Banco BMG and Gasmig.
