In a consistent weekend,  the pilot scored in the three races of the round

The Hungaroring auto track, on the outskirts of Budapest, Hungary, hosted this weekend (22th to 24th) the activities of second triple round European F3 Championship. In his second season in the category,  the Brazilian pilot Sérgio Sette Câmara (Red Bull / Petrobras / Cemig / Mercantil do Brasil) had a good performance and managed to score points in the three races.

The activities were initiated on Wednesday, the 20th, with a day of collective practice sessions. With all the cars of the Championship on the track, the Brazilian pilot took the opportunity to get to know the track where he was for the first time and on a quite fruitful way, he ended the day as the fastest pilot.

Excited,  Sette Câmara initiated then the weekend of the competition. On the  two free practice sessions where he and the Motorpark Academy team have set the last details of the equipment for the two taking of times. In the first qualifying session, the pilot managed to secure a place in the fourth row of the grid, in eighth position. In the second qualifying, which defined the starting grid for races two and three of the weekend, his performance was even better and he confirmed the third position for the start of the second  race and  the third position for the proof on Sunday.

Hot and firm weather,  the two races on Saturday were carried out with a high degree of competitiveness. Among experienced opponents and novice riders, we are also showing a lot of speed, Sette Câmara had a good performance in both participations. In the first race he received the checkered flag in seventh place and in the second race he finished in fifth place.

Different than the day before, however, the Hungarian weekend ended with cold and much rain. The race had its start allowed with the safety-car on the track, due to the large volume of water. Three laps later, however, the green flag was waved and cars began to speed up. Serginho, with good acceleration, managed to stay in second, pressing the leader Max Ghunter. However, he also suffered heavy pressure from the competitor who came right behind him. In a moment of extreme pressure, Câmara skidded a little on the track, and headed to the safety area. With great technique, even with the ground wet, the pilot managed to hold the car and returned to the track in the eighth position. At this point, 15 minutes lasted to the end of the race. Fairly focused, the pilot moved on fast,   overcame three contestants and received the checkered flag again, in fifth place.

“We had a very consistent weekend here in Hungary. Despite not having achieved a podium, I scored on the three races and, as a consequence, I added 26 points to the Championship. In the first race I started on a position further back and did everything possible to win positions. This track, overcoming  is very difficult. In the second race, starting from the outside of the track, my car skidded a bit at the start and I dropped to eighth place. I managed to recover well and I arrived in fifth. Finally, in today’s race, we had rain for the first time over the weekend. The team made a good tuning of the car and I was too fast. However, when I was in second, I skidded on the track and dropped several positions. I managed to return, I overcame three more cars and arrived in fifth. I can say that the round was fruitful for the Championship and now we move to the third event of the year with 36 points in the standings”, commented the 17-year pilot.

The next round of the Championship shall take place within three weeks, on the streets of Pau, in France, from May 13 to15,
