The 17-year pilot shall dispute in 2016 his second European F3 championship season

In the morning of this Friday (11) Red Bull motorsports Division announced the hiring of three new names for its drivers ‘ development program. For the Brazilian public the great novelty was the confirmation of the pilot from Minas Gerais, Sérgio Sette Câmara (Red Bull/ Cemig/ Mercantil do Brasil) as one of the young talents to become part of the team.

Sette Câmara will have in 2016 his second season in the FIA F3 European Championship. In his debut year in the single-seaters , the Brazilian managed to show his full potential with very expressive results not only in the European Championship, but also in the great extra championship competitions like the Masters of Zandvoort, when he made the pole position and finished in third position and the Macau GP, when he established the new record of the track.

“My first year in single-seaters racing did not start very well, mainly due to my lack of experience, but the podium at Spa-Francorchamps came at the right time. From that moment on, it looks like a new season began where I could achieve good results in the second half of the Championship. The pole at Zandvoort, another podium in Red Bull Ring and the track record in Macao gave me a lot of confidence for my second season”, commented the pilot.

With two teams in formula 1, Red Bull today is a major reference in international motorsport. On an innovative way, it was one of the first companies to create a career development program where it led big names for the top category of world sport such as Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber, Daniel Ricciardo, Daniil Kyviat, in so many others.

“I am very proud to join the Red Bull family. Today, I have a great opportunity in my career and honestly I am very grateful for that. I’m confident for next season and I already can’t wait to go back to compete. I’m sure that both myself and my team will continue our work together, we will achieve all our goals”, concluded the 17year old pilot.

In his second season in the European F3 Sette Câmara will follow with the same technical package which competed in 2015 based on the German team Motopark Academy and Volkswagen engines.
