The Abu Dhabi GP, in the United Arab Emirates, will close the first year of the driver in the category

This weekend, between November 24 and 26, the engines of the F2 World Championship will roar for the last time in 2017. At the modern Yas Marina Race Course in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, drivers and teams will meet the challenges of the 11th round of the competition.

At the end of his first season in the Championship, the Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara (ACER | CCR | PALMDREAM | SANEPAV | TAESA | CEMIG | BELL) is confident that he will keep growing in the category. After the victory at Spa-Francorchamps, the podium at Monza and the best starting position of the year at Jerez de La Frontera, the 19-year-old has plenty of reasons to be excited.

Coming from a brilliant performance in Macau last weekend, where he showed all his boldness and audacity in the search for the title, the young man from Minas Gerais will once again face the challenge to amaze the F2 paddock and, furthermore, call the attention of the heads of the F1 teams.

“We are in a very important moment of the year. Negotiations for next year are taking place for me and my opponents. We have talked to a few teams, but the definition of our destiny in 2018 will come out after this week’s race. Racing well here in Abu Dhabi and getting good positions could directly reflect on my future for 2018, “he said.

The Yas Marina racetrack is literally an oasis in the middle of the desert. The track, one of the most modern in the world, has 5,554 meters in length and is used in a counterclockwise direction. It was exactly there, a year ago, that Sette Câmara had his first experience in a car of the GP2 Series.

“My team and I are in a very good moment in the Championship. Our performance curve has grown a lot in the last races, and with the commitment and dedication of all, we are managing to bring MP Motorsport to a level it has never reached before. We will do our best here in Abu Dhabi to get back to being competitive and, consequently, fighting again for the podiums in both races. For this race, I will have the support of Palmdream, a company here in the country specialized in Coconut Water. This will be an even greater motivation to make a great effort and try to have an amazing race in the sponsor’s house, “said the 19-year-old.
