Championship enters its final stretch at the traditional Monza Race Track

This weekend, after Belgium, the F2 World Championship arrives at the traditional Monza Race Track in Italy, where drivers and teams will participate in the tenth double round of the Championship. The race, which opens the final part of the season, will be hosted at the fastest circuit of the year.

After the terrible accident last weekend, which led to the death of Anthoine Hubert (FRA), the Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | BMG | MRV | CCR | CEMIG | GASMIG | CBMM | COPASA) has taken some distance and is now ready to return to his cockpit.

With almost six thousand meters in length, the Monza track is undoubtedly the fastest of the Championship. The circuit has ten turns and an impressive 72% of the lap at full throttle. The adjusted downforce level in the cars is virtually zero and as a result, they reach the top speed of 322 km / h and average 226 km / h.

Sette has a good relationship with the Italian circuit. In 2017, debuting in the category, he won the podium and celebrated second place while competing for the modest MP Motorsport. Last year, already in the English Carlin, he started from the front row of the grid and finished Sunday’s race again on the podium. Like Sergio, the DAMS team collected good results in 2018 with a podium for Alex Albon in the first race.

A significant change will be implemented this year and the drivers are not sure what they will find over the weekend. “Last year we ran here with super soft tyres. This year we will have the choice of only medium or soft. Thus, our free practice tests will be critical to define the tyre wear and to prepare the ideal setups for both the qualy and the race. Our car has already been very fast and with an excellent pace in the races. I will do my best to earn as many points as possible and keep growing in the Championship, ”commented the 21-year-old.
