In his second season in the European F3 Championship, the pilot will exhibit the brand of one of the largest companies in Brazil

For the second consecutive season, the  17-year Brazilian pilot Sergio Sette Câmara (Red Bull / Petrobras / Cemig / Mercantil do Brasil), will compete in the European F-3 Championships. The competition, which has become in recent years one of the main roads in climbing to the F-1, has already revealed many talents to the main category of world motorsport.

As the selection criteria, the great evolution shown by Sette Câmara during his debut year showed in the category, with a particular focus on the podiums at Spa-Francorchamps, Red Bull Ring, Zandvoort and the record on the track of the traditional Macau GP,  Petrobras backed the talent of Belo Horizonte pilot and will sponsor him this season.

As announced by the oil company,  this sponsorship is part of a larger project of the corporation that aims to take Brazilian pilots from the kart to the F-1.

“The idea of Petrobras with this sponsorship is an extension of what we already do in motorsport, which is to develop Brazilian sport with this aid to young pilots. We want to use as a first step the Setting of Petrobras Kart and, from there, to try fasting with a base category as a F-4 or F-3 Brazil unleashing a natural way for the pilot always using as a criterion the meritocracy. From the results by Sérgio Sette Câmara last year we start to this program already pointing out that the European F3 is the third step in that climb towards the F-1”, commented Claudio Thompson, Manager of sports sponsorships of Petrobras.

Sette Câmara proved grateful with the invitation and the chance to represent the Petrobras. “My goal is the F-1 since I started in karting. Our country is in need of new pilots and initiatives like these generate the interest of the people to follow again the races. I am very grateful for the opportunity to carry the brand name of a company that has the face of Brazil. I trained a lot to show again good results and, as a consequence, continue deserving the support and sponsorship by strong companies that rely on me”.

The European F3 Championship season will have ten triple rounds and will start this weekend, between April 1 and 3 April at the Paul Ricard Race track, in France
