The driver received the award for the Motorsport Highlight

The 120th anniversary of Belo Horizonte was held by the Sports Secretary of Minas Gerais on Tuesday (12), a solemnity where the people from the state who stood out the most in sports in 2017 were awarded. The event was hosted at the Estadual Central school and was attended by several political and sports authorities.

The driver Sergio Sette Câmara (CCR), who competed in the events of the F2 World Championship, was one of the honorees of the night. For his performance throughout the season, where he won in Belgium in his first year of the season, he also obtained the second place in Italy, in addition to having scored in consecutive races. The driver was awarded the title of Motorsport Highlight in 2017. He received his medal from the Deputy Secretary of Sports, Mr. Ricardo Sapi.

Moments later, at the same solemn session, Sette Câmara returned to the stage. From the hands of Mrs. Ilma Monteiro, superintendent of the Sports Secretary of State, he received a second medal. This time the award was dedicated to the Sérgio Sette Câmara Institute for the recruiting and realization of the Minas Gerais Exporting Talent Project, whose resources were made possible through the Minas Sportiva Program (State Sports Incentive Law).

“I feel extremely honored to be able to represent Minas Gerais and Brazil on the racetracks around the world. Every time I sit in my car and lower the visor I feel like I am raising the name of our land far beyond our mountains. I thank the Secretary Arnaldo Gontijo, the Deputy Secretary Ricardo Sapi and all the friends of the Sports Secretary. Awards like this give us even more motivation and drive to keep fighting for our goals, “said the young driver.
