In Nurburgring,  Germany, the 17-year-old Brazilian pilot continued his season of evolution

Ended this Sunday (27) the 10th and penultimate round of the European F3 Championship. Competing by the Motopark Academy team, the Brazilian pilot Sergio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil do Brasil / Lalubema Motoltpark Academy) disputed the three races of the round at the Nurburgring in Germany, and finished the first two races on 11th and, in the third, on 10th, going back to the scoring zone.

Coming from an extremely positive weekend in Zandvoort, when he won the pole position and two third places, Sette Câmara experienced in this round a different experience where he had to work hard the hit the car.

As it always occurs, the activities on Friday, the first day of the weekend, were the most intense. After all, in two free practice sessions and two more taking of times, Sette Câmara almost completed 70 laps on the German circuit. Starting the car tunings and working hard with the engineers and mechanics, Serginho reached the 9th position in the first free session and the 15th in the second. The brands definitely dis not please the pilot, but the time was followed by joint work with the Volkswagen technicians, responsible for Brazilian’s car engines, in search of better performance for the taking of times that would be held next.

The car was number 23 went to the track in the two qualifying sessions. With the time of 1m21s749,  Serginho secured a place in the fifth row of the grid, with the ninth time. Already on the second taking of times, which defined the starting positions for the two and three races, the track conditions changed a bit and Sette Câmara failed to achieve the same performance from his car ensuring the 14th position for the second race and 10th place for the third,

Willing to do recovery races and seek the  best of the positions conquered in the qualifying session, Serginho went to the trach on Saturday. In the first race, after a tangle on the first turn, Serginho virtually stopped his car to not bump into competitors and thus lost several positions. The pilot continued on the race on the 15th position and, from there on, made a recovery race, overtook four contestants and received the checkered flag on the 11th position. In the second race, starting on the 14th position, the pilot earned positions  at the starting and followed pursuing his competitors. With a good race tuning, the pilot managed to overcome two more competitors and reached the 11th position, the same position when he received the checkered flag.

On this Sunday was held the third and final race of the round. Sette Câmara started from the 10th position and was willing to return to the scoring  zone. In a very trembling  race, with four entries of the safety car, it was not easy for the Brazilian to recover. He won positions at the start, jumping to the eighth place, became involved in disputes and ended up falling to the 11th position and, on the last restart, literally with a lot of enthusiasm, he won two positions and finished the race in ninth, scoring two more points for the Championship.

“I had a very intense weekend here in Germany. Unlike last week, our car didn’t have the same rate as we achieved in Zandvoort. We have worked hard and in different car tunings in search to achieve the same rate of competitors. Unfortunately it was not possible, but I did my best. We are at one position of points in two events Saturday and, today, I got two more points for the Championship. Only one round is missing for the end of the season and I want very much to end the year with more trophies to my gallery”, commented. After 30 European rounds, Sette Câmara has now 50.5 points in the Championship, and occupies the 15th position on the classification.
