A hard weekend, with lots of rain and hard  fights, marked the Velopark stage

The Velopark Autodrome in Nova Santa Rita, in Rio Grande do Sul, received this weekend the sixth round of the F3 Brazil with races valid for the 11th and 12th stages of the Championship. Showing his strength and recovery in the national motorsport scenario, the race had 17 cars on the grid and a lot of competitiveness on the track.

Only in its third weekend of competition on F3 the pilot Sergio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil do Brasil | CEMIG | TAESA | MBbema | Tear Têxtil | Lalu | Patrus Transportes | Milplan)  experienced a round of much learning, but above all of speed and conquest of trust.

On Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning the cars were on the track for free practice. Among the technicians and engineers of Cesário F3 team and his coach Danilo Dirani, Sette Câmara didn’t take too long to impose his rhythm. With many fast laps he and his teammate seemed to participate in other categories and did not allow the approach of other competitors. At the end of the two sessions, for a difference of 21 thousandths from the first pilot, Sette Câmara assumed the second position, and was became excited for the taking of times and races.

Yet on Saturday, at the end of the morning, Serginho made his taking of times. With the time of 49s463 he got the second position on the grid for the first race. Excited, the pilot was sure of his good performance and was preparing himself for the race. This first race would be on Saturday, but, due to heavy rain, it was postponed to Sunday morning.

Sunday dawned and the rain prevailed, however, in a lesser intensity. The start was authorized with the Safety-Car on the track. After the first two laps it  left the track and the race was effectively authorized. However, when he really accelerated to assert in this re-start, Sette Câmara’s car turned off, causing almost all competitors pass him. He still managed to make the equipment jump starting and, with as a result, he followed on the race, at this point, o the 14th position. Even with the wet track the pilot from Belo Horizonte showed all his talent and, with determination, he gained seven positions, finishing on the seventh position.

Starting on the fourth row,  the second race was even more exciting. With the dry track, Serginho made an impressive recovery race. He surpassed his competitors at different points of the track and, on the 14th lap he  had assumed the vice leadership. On the second place he followed until the 21st lap when, then, in direct search for the leadership, he ended up hitting one of the high kerbs of the circuit and broke the suspension of his car, forcing him to abandon the race. With the time of 50s221 he stayed with the fastest lap of the race, which served as an award for all the growth of the weekend.

We had a very good weekend here in the Velopark. I managed to evolve well the car and drove all the time next to my teammate. Unfortunately the results did not appear, but we are on the right track. I thank my sponsors for the opportunity and we will make our best efforts on the next stage, within one month, in Curitiba, commented the 16-year pilot”.
