Strategy of the Dragon Penske team helped the Brazilian to gain positions on the end of the race

The Saturday that closes the month of April had a lot of speed and thrill on the streets of Monte Carlo, in Monaco. The Formula E World Championship had its sixth round of the season on the most charming circuit of motorsport of the world.

Sergio Sette Câmara, Brazilian driver that races for the North American team Dragon Penske had a hard day, but with a lot of work and strategy was closed with a very good recovery when the car #7 got the chequered flag on the 13th place.

All of the weekend activities were made this Saturday and, since the first Free Practice, the performance of the two Dragon cars were really below the expectations of drivers and engineers. Many changes were tested during the morning Practices, however, none of them had the effect to give the drivers the performance desired for Qualifying. This way, with the time of 1m32s137, Sette Câmara got only the 20th place for the start of the E-Prix that happened, punctually 10 AM, on the Brasilia time.

After an extremely conservative start of the entire grid, the 22 cars went ahead in full speed for the race, predicted to have 45 minutes plus one lap. On the first part of the race, Sergio following a different strategy programed by the team, Sergio kept his starting position saving the greatest amount of battery that he could. While the other cars went quickly, Sergio controlled his pace and, naturally, became a little distant of the pack.

On the second half of the race, after the Safety Car came out, Sette started showing a really strong pace. On a strategy that he used both of his Attack Modes on a row, he managed to do great overtakes, finishing the race on the 13th place.

“We started the practices with a pace really below the expected and got only P20 for the start. However, on the race, a good strategy allowed us to use both Attack Modes on the end of the race. As such, I got to do good overtakes and gain, as a whole, 7 positions regarding the start. I appreciate our team for all the hard work and my sponsors MRV Engenharia, Multimarcas Consórcios, Gasmig and CEMIG.”

The next round of the Formula E Championship will take place on May 14 and 15 on the Tempelhof airport circuit, in Berlin, Germany.
